The Gift Of Time

"The Gift Of Time" is a generous phrase that gets bandied about between preschool directors and parents considering whether or not to hold a child back from Kindergarten. The child gets another year of preschool to take his time developmentally in order to avoid feeling like he is always rushing to "catch up" with everyone else.

With this in mind, I decided
I am going to take some time myself. Even though there are a million things to do, emails to catch up on, stories to write, tasks at hand, I am going to stop, take time to smell the roses and have a little cake with friends and family. I am going to give myself the gift of time and fully enjoy the weekend my daughter turns 5, the near close of her preschool life, and a milestone in my own mothering. Five years. Half a decade. My life has completely changed since conceiving ways I can't clearly articulate. Instead, I will raise a glass and celebrate being present for this incredible ride.

Oh, I can't tell you how GREAT it is to finally see you both! Beauty, beauty, beauty.

This is a most beautiful post. Deep. True. You.

Love and blessings for the amazing journey. May you honor it as the highest vocation and profession. The creation of life, the shaping and tending of life. Isn't all art simply an attempt to speak to this????
